This is the wedding day highlights from Nalani and Jason's wedding on the island of Lanai. This was an extra special wedding for us (all weddings are special to us) because Nalani is a longtime friend, and Janice and Kylie were on the bridal party. Nalani was one of Janice's bridesmaids, but this time it was Nalani's turn. Kylie was so excited about being a flower girl, and you can tell by the way she was walking down the aisle that she has been in front of a camera a couple times in her life. I also served as the unofficial photographer for their wedding, which was a lot of fun. However, there is no chance I will be making a career change into photography! On a sad note, Nalani's father passed away a few weeks ago. However, everyone is very thankful that he got to see his only daughter get married. I know he will rest in peace knowing that Jason will be there to take care of his baby girl.
On a lighter note, I learned a few things about the island of Lanai, since this was my first trip (except we spent a couple hours there a few years ago, but that doesn't really count). First of all, you really only need a few hours to see the whole island (and meet everyone on the island). Second, I really liked staying at the Four Seasons. Third, Lanai is the darkest place on earth at night. As we were packing up, I literally could not see my hands. Finally, everyone who travels to Lanai must eat at Blue Ginger Cafe for breakfast! We just about licked the plate clean!!! Nalani and Jason from Video 21 productions on Vimeo.
This is the wedding day highlights from Aileen and Damon's wedding. Aileen's brother served as the "Man of Honor", and he also walked her down the aisle. Being a part of their wedding made it very obvious that they have a very close relationship. Their reception was full of great speeches, and lots and lots of laughs. Congratulations Aileen and Damon!!! Aileen and Damon from Video 21 productions on Vimeo.
Here is the ceremony highlights from Jamie and Nathan's wedding on Sunday. This was our first time shooting in the Judicial Building, and it absolutely beautiful!!! I've seen pictures and always wanted to shoot there, and it did not disappoint. I love how after they kiss, they drop 13 pounds of flower petals from the top! It was so impressive! Congratulations Jamie and Nathan!!! Jamie & Nathan from Video 21 productions on Vimeo.
This is the ceremony highlights from our other Saturday wedding. Janell and Kory were married at the beautiful Ocean Crystal Chapel, and their reception followed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We had a blast working with Geralyn from Hokuli'i Images. She brings so much energy, and it becomes contagious for everyone around her. Kory is another one of our "vertically challenged" grooms, and there were plenty of jokes going around throughout the reception. Congratulations Janell and Kory!!! Here is the ceremony highlights from Taryn and Nathan's wedding at the Sheraton Waikiki. First of all (not wedding related), the Sheraton has done an incredible job renovating their hotel! I really want to take the family for a couple days there, so we can hang out at their huge pool. As for the wedding, Taryn and Nathan were so much fun to be around. At the end of the night, they chose to have casino gambling instead of the traditional open dancing. It was a lot of fun for the guests, because everyone from Hawaii loves to gamble!!! Congratulations Taryn and Nathan!!! Taryn & Nathan from Video 21 productions on Vimeo.
Here is the ceremony highlights from Melinda and Chad's wedding at the Hawaii Prince Hotel. The guys were a bunch of clowns while they were getting ready, but it was a lot of fun. This was our first wedding that had a hypnotist (although we've seen hypnotist shows many times at Project Graduations). It was hilarious, and everyone in the crowd really enjoyed it. Usually people ask, "They're not really hypnotized, are they?". I can confidently answer that question, "Yes, they are!" It all made for a great time at a great wedding. Thank you Melinda and Chad!!! Here are some recent pictures of Kylie having fun around the house. She loves playing with her dog, Charlie (except when he is making her cry). One thing Kylie loves to do is help Daddy shave, so today she got the shaving cream and had a little fun!!!
Janice is going to be mad when she sees these pictures!!!
This is the ceremony highlights from tonight's wedding of Lauryn and Zachary. Their ceremony was held at the Punahou School Chapel, and the reception followed at the Oahu Country Club. This wedding was very unique for us because they hired us only a few days before their wedding. Normally we are booked 6 months to a year in advance, but this was very late notice (but we were thrilled). If you notice, Lauryn forgot her bouquet as she walked down the aisle (I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often). Another funny moment was that as Zachary was starting to put the ring on Lauryn's finger, he dropped it! Everyone was laughing, including the couple. Congratulations Lauryn and Zachary!!! Our new website is finally up (except the "Contact Us" page which is still under construction), and we are so happy with the results!!! Big mahalo to Chris Ota for designing our site and being patient enough to deal with me through this process. Chris has worked for us for over 3 years now, and he is an extremely talented web designer. We also have unveiled our newest package, the "Economy Package", which we hope will be very successful. Hopefully it will encourage those who were not going to get a video to find a cheaper alternative. The one positive that we can take from this tough economy is that it has rejuvenated us to making sure our business maintains our success, and continues to improve!
We are happy to again be a part of the Hawaii Bridal Expo at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall on January 16-18. The expo is a great way to meet a wide variety of vendors offering great services to those getting married in Hawaii. We are working feverishly to get ready, and we also have a lot of great changes in store for this expo. First of all, our new website will (hopefully) be up in the next day or 2. We are really excited about creating a fresh new look for the web, and we can't wait to share it! We have also added lots of new demos, changed the layout of our booth, as well as a couple other surprises for those who come to visit. We look forward to seeing you there!!!
For some reason, our blog does not allow you to go back into previous months (I am working very hard on fixing this, but I have very limited knowledge on the subject). So since I am now a member of Vimeo and I am now able to show the videos in HD, I figured I would re-post our "Mega Demo" in HD, and we did make a few changes to some of the clips. I loved making this demo because it really shows how professional video captures the best moments of your wedding day, and it is enjoyable to watch over and over again. Here is the wedding day highlights from Belynda and Tony's wedding at the Halekulani Hau Terrace. I had to use Vimeo instead of YouTube, because YouTube would not allow the video with the song (silly, huh). The good thing is the quality is much better with Vimeo. I really love the privacy and the beauty of the Hau Terrace, and it's a perfect location for smaller weddings. This was a very emotional ceremony, as practically everyone was crying. However, the mood was lightened when Belynda let out a loud crying noise (much louder than I think she expected) during the vows, and in turn everyone started laughing. It was a great moment that is a perfect example of what video can capture for a wedding!!! Belynda and Tony from Davis Lauderdale on Vimeo.
This is the wedding day highlights form Leihua and Rommel's wedding. Their ceremony was held at Lanikuhonua, and their reception was held across the island at the Hale Koa. This wedding was fun to edit because the reception was filled with hilarious speeches (mostly directed at teasing poor Rommel). We also had a great time working with our friends from Dulce. Congratulations Leihua & Rommel!!!
This is the wedding day highlights from Kelsi and Ian's wedding at the Hale Koa. The Taiko Drums is always one of my favorite parts of wedding receptions, and in this case Kelsi and her sister participated! If Janice and I ever renew our vows, I am going to have Taiko Drums at the reception. Kelsi and Ian had a beautiful wedding, and we are so fortunate to have been a part of it. Thank you Kelsi and Ian!!!
Here is the ceremony highlights from tonight's wedding of Dawn and Puna. They were married at Luana Hills, which I think is one of the most beautiful ceremony locations on Oahu. Everyone was concerned that it was going to rain since it was so cloudy all day, but the weather held up beautifully. A lot of people do not realize that overcast days is much easier to shoot in that sunny days, because the lighting is even and not so harsh. As a result, I'm sure they got some great photos from their photographer, Alecia Hoyt. Thank you Dawn and Puna!!!
We are a husband and wife team that is blessed to have our dream job. We have a daughter, Kylie, who recently turned 5 years old. She is the love of our lives, and one that keeps us motivated to strive for the best. We started our business shortly after we were married (2003), and we are very proud of the success that we have had. We believe that the key to our success has been professionalism and sincerity. We truly want to give all of our couples a video memory that they will enjoy forever.
