Joy and Paulo

Joy and Paulo had a beautiful wedding ceremony at St. Augustine Church, and their reception followed at the Westin Moana Surfrider. This couple has a "glow" about them, which makes our job so much easier. They had a beautiful ceremony, but the reception was even more memorable. I especially loved the father daughter dance (I usually don't enjoy this part because it reminds me that there is a chance I will let Kylie get married one day and I will be dancing with her), because after the slow dance they broke into a fast dance. It was really cute!!! This was followed by a very emotional dance between Paulo and his mother, which brought tears to everyone (even the vendors). The couple chose Geralyn from Hokulii Images as their photographer (assisted by Arna Johnson), and Aubrey from Savior Faire as their coordinator. Congratulations Joy and Paulo!!!

Hyatt Wedding Gala

Today was a very special day for Video 21. We were a part of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Wedding Gala. It consisted of about 150 engaged couples that got a chance to see what the Hyatt is all about. They were given the royal treatment with great food, drinks, and entertainment. They got to watch a short video about the Hyatt (made by yours truly), and then they were split up into groups and led on tours through the hotels. They got to visit one of the bridal suites, hang out by the waterfall, and visit the ceremony site. At the ceremony site, Mary from A Perfect Day and myself were waiting to give a short presentation to the couple. Finally they got to go to the ballroom, where they were amazed with a beautifully decorated ballroom, as well as a lounge area. Tony So from TheDJ Hawaii provided the music and lights for the lounge, which was really cool. Naomi from Les Saisons provided the linens for all the tables, which was absolutely beautiful. Florist Grand provided the flowers, which included the biggest centerpieces I have ever seen (each one consisted of 14 dozen red roses!!!). Inside the ballroom, there was great food for everyone to eat (and I'm not talking samples, they were given REAL food). Also in the ballroom, each vendor was given a table so that the couples could meet them and ask questions. Of course, Janice got to stay in the ballroom in the A/C, while I got sunburned outside!

It was a great honor to be a part of the gala because there was only one vendor per category, and we were the chosen videographer. They Hyatt is a first-class hotel, and it means so much that they chose us. After all the couples were gone, all of the vendors hung out and partied for a while. Special mahalo to all of the Hyatt staff, especially Michele Ganiko, their catering manager. She is truly the best in the business. You can reach Michele at (808) 227-6239. Here is the video that was played at the gala.

Brandi & Peter

This is the ceremony highlights from Brandi and Peter's wedding. Their ceremony was held at the beautiful Kamehameha Chapel, and their reception followed at Hale Koa in the Luau Gardens. We had a blast working with their talented photographer, Geralyn from Hokulii Images. I love the shot of the couple taking pictures of themselves with Geralyn's camera, what a great idea! Thank you Brandi and Peter!!!

Jeanelle and Chad

Being a part of Jeanelle and Chad's wedding was our first opportunity to see the Royal Hawaiian Hotel after it's renovations. After seeing it, we were not disappointed. It was really cute when Jeanelle's dance with her father cut from a slow song to "Stayin' Alive". Davis says he wants to do that with Kylie at her wedding (which he hopes will not happen "for at least 30 years"), probably so he can keep from crying. We also had a great time working with their phographer, Love Story Weddings, as well as their coordinator, Kelly Sugano from A Perfect Day. Congratulations Jeanelle and Chad!!!

Joyce and Ted

Joyce and Ted was our last wedding of 2008, and we had a great time at one of our favorite locations. My favorite shot of the video happened during the maid of honor's speech. She told a joke aimed at Ted, and Ted cracked up laughing. However, he quickly realized what she said and his expression changed immediately. It was a very funny moment at a wonderful wedding. Congratulations Joyce and Ted!!!

Leanne & Corey

This is the ceremony highlights from Leanne and Corey's wedding at the Hale Koa. Corey was our electrician when we did an extension on our home last year, but today was our turn to work for him. Their wedding was an absolute blast, and very unique! Not only did Corey wear "Jordans", but so did Leanne! My favorite shot is obviously the one with Corey exploring his nose with his finger. He knew he was being videotaped, but he continued his exploration! This is definitely a wedding we will remember forever!!!

Hazel and Arthur

Hazel and Arthur were married at St. Theresa Cathedral, and their reception followed at the Halekulani. They seem to be about the tenth couple in a row who has chosen this song for their highlights! However, it is a very good song, so it works well. As always, the Halekulani displayed wonderful service and great food. They chose another husband and wife team as their photographers, Bianca and Grant from Bianca Photography. They are so much fun to work with. Congratulations Hazel and Arthur!!!

Susan and Bryce

Susan and Bryce were married at the Central Union Atherton Chapel, and their reception followed at the Hale Koa. This is by far our most popular church/reception sites, and we love shooting both places. Susan has the smallest fingers I have ever seen. I think her ring would fit my 4 year old daughter's fingers! Anyway, they are a really sweet couple, and we had a great time at their wedding. During one of the groomsman's speech, the other groomsmen were holding up the "Now Laugh Please" sign behind his back. It was so funny, especially because he didn't initially realize what they were doing. It was a great moment in a wonderful wedding!!!

Edith & Jimmie

Edith and Jimmie were married at the Hyatt, and here is their ceremony highlights as played at the reception. We were at the Hyatt Saturday night, then back there for Edith and Jimmie's wedding the next morning (talk about deja vu). They had a wild reception (to say the least), complete with a Belly Dancer and lots of kissing (not only between the bride and groom). This was also a very eventful wedding because Janice almost got a ticket for jaywalking while walking across the street from the ceremony site to the ballroom. This will be the source of great teasing for years to come within our company. We can certainly count on Janice following all pedestrian rules for quite a while!!!

Meghan & Reid

Our second wedding of the day was Meghan and Reid. Their photo shoot was at the Judicial Building, and their ceremony and reception was held at the Hyatt. The guys all had Nike shoes with thick pink shoelaces to match their colors. It was a really nice touch, and very eye-catching. They also now own the record for our shortest ceremony - only 8 minutes from the processional to the recessional! They also had a very memorable garter toss. Meghan through a bullet pass - right into the face of her bridesmaid! Their photographers, Visionari, got a great shot of the bouquet right as it hit her face! Of course, she was okay. The wedding was coordinated by Kelly Sugano of A Perfect Day. Congratulations Meghan and Reid!!!

Nancy & Mike

Here is the ceremony highlights from Nancy and Mike's wedding. This couple has such great personalities, and it rubs off on everyone around them. When it was time for the ring exchange, the best man pulled out this huge "diamond". The reaction from Nancy, as well as everyone else in attendance, was priceless. To make things even funnier, when it was time to give the real ring, he dropped it! We also had a great time working with their photographer, Garrett Nose. Congratulations Nancy and Mike!!!

Our house is now a home, finally.

We have lived in our home for a little over 2 years now, but the walls have been blank the entire time. We've been saying since we moved in that we have to put up some pictures, we just kept putting it off. Well, we finally decided to just do it, and it looks soooooooo much better!!! We have so many great photographer friends who have taken pictures of the three of us over the years, so we printed up a whole bunch and made our house a home (special, special thanks to Lew Harrington and the crew of Love Story Weddings for the prints). Hawaii is full of some of the most talented photographers in the world, and we are so blessed to have had them photograph our family. I have probably taken a million photos of Kylie (mostly with a professional camera), but none of mine made the cut! I guess that's why I do video and they do photo!!! Thank you to Harrington Photography, a.k.a Love Story Weddings, Geralyn from Hokulii Images, Kris Labang from On 3 Photography, and David & Cassie from Cassandra Dieterle Photography for all the photos.

One thing you will notice, however, is that there is a few open spaces on the wall. We're going to leave that blank for a while just in case there is an addition to our family . . .

Taryn and Nathan

This is the wedding day highlights from Taryn and Nathan's wedding at the newly renovated Sheraton Waikiki. They were such a joy to be around, and they had a beautiful wedding. At the reception, they had a casino setup for the guests to enjoy a little "gambling". The best part about this kind of gambling is that if you run out of money, you just go back in line and get more!!! Congratulations Taryn and Nathan!!!

Janell and Kory

This is the wedding day highlights from Janell and Kory's wedding at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Although they are originally from Hawaii, they currently live in Buffalo, New York, so I know they enjoyed being home in the warm weather. We also had a great time working with their photographer, Geralyn from Hokuli'i Images. Congratulations Janell and Kory!!!
